Magazine Cover Features
In order to understand what a magazine needs on the front cover to attract the target market, I have shared this link to expand my knowledge of how the techniques on the covere give effects to the reader.
To give examples...
Coloures: The opposite use of colours such as red and yellow, compliment each other to stand out. As they are very close to be opposite coloures on the colour wheel, they grab the audiences eye and they are more likely to read the magazine.
Pictures: The model is making direct eye contact to the audience which also attracts people to read the magazine.
Title: By the model's head covering the magazines title, indicates that the magazine is well known and famous because the title is expected to be known by everyone; so this means the magazine can afford to cover up the title.
Subtitles: The subtitles ensure that the reader knows what he content of the magazine is. The font of the subtitles are sharp; this means that it stands out to the reader as the style of the writing does not give a relaxed feeling. Where as, if the font was curvy it would give a calm sensation to the reader and they would not feel the urge to read the magazine as they font does not stand out in comparison.
Layers: With in the magazine cover, layers have been used to bring forward some statements and titles. This, therefore makes, each statement seem more striking and gets attention from the reader. In conclusion, the reader will more likely want to buy this magazine as it attracts them with different factors that reach out to the target market.
